Rescue Workshop for Operatives
No one expects to have to make use of a Safety Net, but its presence below those working at height confirms the need. It is estimated that there are approximately 400 Safety Net contacts each year in the UK. These are typically Roofers or Flooring Contractors. It is important that those that may fall into a Safety Net are familiar with Rescue proceedures. The best way to achieve this is through a very specific training course. 3 Education have authored a half day “stand alone” Rescue Workshopfor Operatives. It introduces them to the way in which a Safety Net works, how to carry out a pre-use inspection through to how to safely self rescue -or help rescue others.

Outcome
The outcome of the Workshop is for candidates to fully understand what to look for in a rigged Safety Net system and to be able to assess the workability of the prepared plan. Where the plan is not effective, the candidates will be in a position to propose alternative remedial solutions.

Competence
Candidates are assessed on their knowledge and their performance when carrying out practical taks on the course. If successful, they receive a 3 year Certificate of Attendance along with a “headings list” to allow them to create and execute their own site specific Rescue Plan.

Job Functions
Include; Roofers, Metal Deckers, Concrete Flooring Ops, Site Supervisors, Net Riggers.

Workshops are normally delivered at our centre in Buckinghamshire, on site or clients premises. All require “classroom” facilities and a practical area where skills can be taught. We will advise on the suitability of “away from centre” venues.
