Platform Decking for Installers
Platform Decking is a method of providing safe access at height during traditional and timber frame Housebuild construction. It sits close to the top of the Work at Height Hierarchy because a Platform Decking System prevents the worker from falling. FASET have authored an Installers course which concludes in a Blue CSCS card to evidence competence..
Outcome
At the end of the course, candidates will:
Understand the way in which a Platform Decking system works
Know how the components are used to make the system
Be able to plan the installation
Be able identify faults with components and completed system
Carry out handover, pre-use inspections, 7 day inspections and adverse issue inspections
Competence
Candidates are tested on their knowledge at the end of the course. Experienced candidates may be assessed on their practical skills on the day (GSA4). Less experienced candidates will be assessed at a later date, but they must have achieved at least 100 hours supervised experienced. Successful assessment will allow the candidate to apply for a 5 year blue CSCS card.

Facilities
Courses can be held at our training centre in Westcott, Bucks where the candidates will build the platform deck under instruction, using the chosen Manufacturers system. Alternatively we can deliver the course on site; subject to suitable facilities (as a minimum, classroom and a plot).
