Platform Decking for Managers
Platform Decking is a method of providing safe access at height during traditional and timber frame Housebuild construction. It sits close to the top of the Work at Height Hierarchy because a Platform Decking System prevents the worker from falling. FASET have authored an Installers course which concludes in a Blue CSCS card to evidence competence and a Managers course.
3 Education deliver the FASET Platform Decking course for Managers. At the end of the course, candidates will:
Understand the way in which a Platform Decking system works
Know how the components are used to make the system
Be able to plan for the arrival of the platform Decking Installer
Be able to challenge an installed system at handover
Carry out pre use inspections, 7 day inspections and adverse issue inspections
Candidates are assessed on their knowledge and practical understanding at the end of the course. They receive a 3 year FASET Certificate of Attendance
Include; workplace controllers, site/project managers & supervisors, health & safety professionals, planning coordinators and temporary works professionals
Courses can be held at our purpose built training centre in Westcott, Bucks where we will have an installed system for inspection. Alternatively we can deliver the course on site; subject to suitable facilities (as a minimum, classroom and a plot with an installed system).
