NVQ Assessments with 3 Education

The NVQ is the final part of creating a qualified Safety Net Rigger. It is an assessment of the individuals skills and knowledge
The level 2 NVQ in safety net rigging is all about proving a persons competence against a set of agreed performance standards. It covers the main disciplines surrounding the installation of a safety net system eg MEWP operations, use of harnesses, manual handling etc.

The NVQ candidate can prove his/her competence in a number of ways, including what they’ve learnt previously, being observed doing the work and having discussions with the assessor about their experiences of safety net rigging.
This evidence is normally gathered on site over a number of visits and is eventually forwarded to the Internal Verifier who checks the evidence and signs it off. The time taken to complete the NVQ depends upon the capabilities of the candidate and the opportunities to meet on suitable sites.Typically, candidates should allow 6-12 months before completion.

A NVQ certificate is issued to the candidate who can then apply for a blue CSCS card. The digital blue CSCS card is lifed for 5 years and is proof of competence in safety net rigging. After 5 years the card must be renewed by a GSA1 assessment.
